Hello, little artists! Today we will learn to Cut with safe scissors. Cutting is a happy sound—Snip, Snip, Snip—and it helps us make bright pictures.

1. What Cutting Looks Like

  • Red paper, Blue paper, Yellow paper—colors are everywhere!
  • Hold the scissors gently.
  • Press the handles together: Snip, Snip.
  • Watch the paper part Pop apart.

2. Counting While Cutting

Let’s count the cuts together:

1️⃣ One cut – Snip
2️⃣ Two cuts – Snip, Snip
3️⃣ Three cuts – Snip, Snip, Snip

You can count up to five or ten. Counting makes cutting Fun and Easy.

3. Feelings and Sounds

When you hear Snip, Snip, you might feel Excited, Curious, or Proud.
You can say, “I am Happy when I cut a red stripe!”
You can make the sound “Shhh” when you finish, like a quiet Whoosh.


Simple Activity: Cut a Rainbow Stripe

  1. Ask a grown‑up for safety scissors.
  2. Take a piece of White paper.
  3. Draw a long line from left to right.
  4. Color the line with Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple crayons.
  5. Cut along the line—Snip, Snip—and you have a rainbow stripe!

You can make 2 stripes, then 3, then 5. Count them out loud!
