Introduction
Lifeguards are friendly helpers who watch over the water. They keep us safe at pools, beaches, and lakes. Letβs learn about these brave friends!
Who Are Lifeguards?
- Bright Red Hats β Lifeguards wear bright red hats so we can see them from far away.
- Big Whistles β Toot! Toot! They blow a loud whistle when they need attention.
- Strong Arms β They can splash, swim, and lift someone who needs help.
What Do Lifeguards Do?
- Watch: They look, look, look at the water all day.
- Count: They count β1, 2, 3β¦β to check how many swimmers are safe.
- Rescue: When someone slips, they jump βswoosh!β and bring them to the side.
- Smile: They smile with a warm, happy face so we feel safe and calm.
Feelings and Sounds
- Safe β When a lifeguard waves, we feel safe.
- Brave β We feel brave watching the lifeguard help.
- Sounds: Splash! Whistle! Cheer!
Simple Activity β Pretend Lifeguard!
- Put on a red cap (or a paper hat).
