What Is Bark?

Bark is the skin of a tree.
It is Rough – rough – rough!
When the wind blows, the bark Rustles: shhh‑shhh.
Bark protects the tree, just like a coat protects you.

Bark Colors and Feel

Bark can be Brown, Gray, or even Red.
Touch it: it feels Soft in some places, Hard in others.
Let’s count together:

1. One sticky spot.
2. Two smooth spots.
3. Three bumpy spots.

Bark can make us feel Happy when we see a tall tree, or Curious when we hear it Crack in the cold.

Simple Activity – Touch and Count

1. Find a safe tree outside.
2. Gently pat the bark with your hand.
3. Say “soft” or “rough” for each part you feel.
4. Count the number of “rough” spots you find (1, 2, 3…).
