🦕 Dinosaur Times: A Journey Back in Time

Introduction

A long, long time ago, before people, there were giant animals called dinosaurs. They lived on Earth when the world looked very different. Let’s travel back and learn about their amazing world!

1. When Did Dinosaurs Live?

  • Dinosaurs roamed the Earth for About 165 Million Years.
  • This was Before the first trees grew tall and long before the first people walked.
  • Think of a giant storybook that never ends—that’s how long they were here!

2. What Dinosaurs Looked Like

  • Some were Tiny like a chicken (like Microraptor).
  • Some were Huge, taller than a two‑story house (like Brachiosaurus).
  • Many had sharp teeth, long necks, or big plates on their backs.
  • Imagine a friendly giant with a long neck reaching up to eat leaves from the top of a tree!

3. How Dinosaurs Lived

  • Plant‑eaters (herbivores) ate leaves, ferns, and cones. They had flat teeth for chewing.
  • Meat‑eaters (carnivores) hunted other animals. They had sharp, pointy teeth.
  • Some dinosaurs lived in Herds, moving together like a big family. Others liked to be alone.
  • The climate was warm, and there were no ice caps, so the land was full of forests, rivers, and volcanoes.

4. Why Dinosaurs Disappeared

  • About 66 million years ago, a huge rock from space (an Asteroid) hit Earth.
  • The impact made the sky dark and the air cold, and plants died.
  • Without food, many dinosaurs could not survive.
  • Some tiny animals, like early mammals, survived and later became the animals we see today.

How Volcanoes Form

From Magma to Mountain

Volcanoes grow where tectonic plates collide or drift apart. Heat melts rock into light, buoyant magma that rises, cools, and hardens near the surface, building the cone layer by layer.
