Great Wall of China

Why It Was Built

The Great Wall of China is very old. It was built to keep people safe. A long time ago, there were strangers who might hurt the people who lived in the villages and farms. The wall helped keep them safe.

How It Was Built

The wall was built by many workers. They used stones, bricks, and earth to make it strong. The workers carried these heavy things up the hills and mountains. It took a very long time to finish the wall.

What You Can See Today

Today, the wall is very, very long. It goes over mountains and through hills. Some parts of the wall are old and broken. But some parts have been fixed so people can visit. You can walk on the wall and imagine the brave people who built it.
