What Is an Adjective?

An adjective is a word that describes a noun.
It tells us about size, color, shape, feeling, or how something looks.

Examples of Adjectives

  • Big dog
  • Red apple
  • Soft blanket
  • Happy face
  • Cold water

How to Use Adjectives

Put an adjective right before the noun you want to describe.
The Big cat sits on the Soft pillow.
You can use more than one adjective: the Bright, Blue sky.
