Money Basics

What Is Money?

Money is something we use to buy things we need or want. It can be coins that are round and metal, or paper bills that are soft. When we give money to a shop, we get a toy, a snack, or a book in return.

How We Use Money

We earn money by helping at home, doing small jobs, or receiving an allowance. When we have money, we can choose what to buy. It’s important to think before we spend so we get what we really need.

Saving and Sharing

Saving means keeping some money in a safe place, like a piggy bank, for later. Sharing is giving a little money to help friends, family, or charities. Both saving and sharing help us feel happy and responsible.
