🤸‍♀️ Let’s Jump into Gymnastics!

Gymnastics is a fun sport where you move your body like a superhero. You can flip, spin, and balance on the floor, on a mat, or on a special bar. Let’s learn a few cool moves and why they are awesome!

1. The Forward Roll

  • What It Is: A smooth roll that starts standing, then tucks your head and rolls forward on the mat.
  • How To Do It: Bend your knees, put your hands on the mat, and roll over your shoulders. End up standing up again.
  • Why It’s Good: It helps your body stay safe when you fall and makes your tummy muscles strong.

2. The Tree Pose (balance)

  • What It Is: You stand on one foot and place the other foot on the inside of your standing leg, like a tree’s branch.
  • How To Do It: Hold your hands together at your chest and look straight ahead.
  • Why It’s Good: It trains your balance, just like a tightrope walker!

3. The Cartwheel

  • What It Is: A sideways flip that looks like a big “X” in the air.
  • How To Do It: Start with one foot forward, swing your arms up, kick your legs over your body, and land on the opposite foot.
  • Why It’s Fun: It makes you feel like you’re flying like a bird!

4. The Handstand (against a Wall)

  • What It Is: You stand on your hands with your feet pointing up.
  • How To Do It: Face a wall, place your hands on the floor, kick your legs up, and let the wall catch your feet.
  • Why It’s Cool: It makes your arms and shoulders super strong.

How Volcanoes Form

From Magma to Mountain

Volcanoes grow where tectonic plates collide or drift apart. Heat melts rock into light, buoyant magma that rises, cools, and hardens near the surface, building the cone layer by layer.
