Countries

What Is a Country?

A country is a piece of land where people live together.
Each country has its own name, flag, and rules.
The people in a country speak languages, wear clothes, and eat foods that are special to them.
Think of a country like a big house with many rooms. The rooms are the cities and towns.

How Countries Are Different

Every country is unique.

  • Size – Some countries are tiny, like Vatican City, while others are huge, like Russia.
  • Land – Some have mountains, deserts, forests, or beaches.
  • Weather – You can find cold places with snow and hot places with sunshine.
  • Culture – Music, dances, holidays, and games can be very different from one country to another.
