Mountains

Mountains are very tall pieces of land. They rise high into the sky and can be covered with snow. People climb them for adventure and scientists study them to learn about Earth’s history.

Rivers

Rivers are long streams of water that flow from high places to lower lands. They give water to plants, animals, and people. Rivers often create valleys and can be used for boats and fishing.

Deserts

Deserts are dry areas with very little rain. The ground is mostly sand or rock, and only special plants and animals can live there. Temperatures can be very hot during the day and cold at night.

Oceans

Oceans cover most of our planet. They are huge bodies of salty water filled with fish, whales, and coral reefs. Oceans help control the Earth’s climate and provide food for many people.
