The Story Mix‑up Challenge

What You’ll Need

• 5 index cards
• A timer or phone

How to Play

1. Write one story element on each card: Setting, Character, Conflict, Rising Action, Climax, Resolution.
2. Shuffle the cards and place them face‑down in a pile.
3. Turn over the top three cards. Use them to create the Beginning of your story (setting, character, conflict).
4. Flip the next card for the Rising Action: challenges that build toward the most important moment.
5. Flip the next card for the Climax, when the character faces the main problem.
6. Flip the final card for the Resolution, which shows what happens afterward.
7. Set a timer for 5 minutes. Write your story. When the timer rings, read it aloud and see how the mix‑up worked!
