Welcome to Surprise Button! These terms and conditions outline the rules and regulations for the use of our website and services.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using Surprise Button, you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement. If you do not agree to abide by these terms, please do not use our service.
2. Description of Service
Surprise Button provides an AI-powered content discovery experience for families. The service curates safe, educational, and age-appropriate content for children while giving parents visibility and controls. Features may include daily and weekly summaries, personalized recommendations, and other tools introduced from time to time. While we strive to maintain a positive and accurate experience, we do not warrant that all information surfaced through the service is error-free or suitable for every learner.
3. Subscription & Billing
Surprise Button is offered as an auto-renewing subscription titled
Surprise Button Yearly (Product ID:
com.surprisebutton.yearly
). Key details:
- Free trial: A 7-day trial begins when you first subscribe. If you do not cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the subscription will convert to a paid plan automatically.
- Price: $99 (USD) per one-year term, subject to any applicable taxes determined by Apple. Promotional pricing, if offered, will be clearly disclosed in-app before you confirm your purchase.
- Billing: Payment is charged to your Apple ID at purchase confirmation. The plan renews automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Renewal charges post within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
- Manage or cancel: You can manage your subscription and turn off auto-renew at any time in Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions on your Apple device. Deleting the Surprise Button app does not cancel your subscription.
- Refunds: Apple handles all billing, refunds, and proration requests. We cannot grant refunds directly; please contact Apple Support if you need assistance.
- Account status: Access to premium features may be suspended or downgraded if Apple cannot process renewal payment.
We may update subscription pricing or benefits in the future. When we do, we will notify you in advance through the app or via email and provide instructions on how to cancel if you do not wish to continue under the revised terms.
4. Apple App Store Terms
Because Surprise Button is distributed through the Apple App Store, your use of the iOS application is also governed by the Apple Media Services Terms & Conditions and the Standard EULA. Those terms supplement—and, where required by Apple, control over—any conflicting provisions in these Terms. Apple is not responsible for providing support services for Surprise Button; all support inquiries should be directed to us using the contact information below.
5. User Accounts & Parental Responsibility
When you create an account with us, you must provide us with information that is accurate, complete, and current at all times. Failure to do so constitutes a breach of the Terms, which may result in immediate termination of your account on our service. Surprise Button is designed for parents and guardians to supervise their children's use. You agree to: (a) safeguard your login credentials, (b) monitor your child's activity within the app, and (c) ensure that any child using the service understands and follows these Terms. You may not share your account with others outside your household or use the service for commercial purposes without our consent.
Our service allows you to access and view educational content. You are responsible for your child's use of the service and for any content they access. We reserve the right to remove any content that we determine to be inappropriate or in violation of these terms, and to suspend accounts that misuse the service, introduce harmful content, or otherwise compromise the safety of our community.
6. Service Communications
By using our service, you agree to receive certain communications from us related to your account and your child's educational activities:
- Daily Activity Reports: Sent at 7 PM local time summarizing your child's educational discoveries
- Weekly Progress Reports: Comprehensive summaries delivered on Sundays at 5 PM with learning insights
- Service Announcements: Important updates about our service, safety features, or policy changes
- Account Communications: Essential information about your account status, billing, or security
All communications are sent exclusively to parent email addresses. We never send emails to children or collect children's email addresses. You may unsubscribe from non-essential communications at any time using the unsubscribe link in each email or by contacting us directly. 7. Limitation of Liability
In no event shall Surprise Button, nor its directors, employees, partners, agents, suppliers, or affiliates, be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from your access to or use of or inability to access or use the service.
8. Changes
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material we will provide at least 30 days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion.
