Tiny Heroes: Germs & Hygiene 🧼

Every day we meet invisible tiny helpers called Germs. Some germs can make us feel yucky, but we can beat them by keeping clean. Let’s learn how!

1. What Are Germs?

  • Germs are super‑small living things you cannot see without a microscope.
  • Some germs are good (they help make cheese!), but the ones we worry about can cause colds or tummy aches.

2. Why Wash Hands?

  • Our hands touch everything – toys, food, doors.
  • When we wash with soap and water for 20 Seconds (about the length of a short song), we wash away the bad germs.
  • Think of soap as a superhero cape that pulls germs off your skin.

3. Keeping Things Clean

  • Toys: Wipe them with a damp cloth after playing outside.
  • Surfaces: Ask a grown‑up to clean tables and doorknobs.
  • Your Body: Take a bath or shower every day. Clean hair and teeth keep germs away from your mouth.

4. Good Hygiene Habits

  • Cover your mouth with a tissue or elbow when you cough or sneeze.
  • Keep nails short so germs can’t hide.
  • Use a clean towel, not the same one everyone shares.

Did You Know?

A single Handshake can pass Up To 1,000 Germs! That’s why saying “hello” with a wave or a high‑five is a fun, germ‑free way to greet friends.

You are a germ‑fighter! By washing, wiping, and covering, you keep your body happy and healthy. Explore more by asking grown‑ups to show you how soap works under a microscope or to help you make a “clean‑up” chart for the week. Keep discovering, little scientist! 🌟

How Volcanoes Form

From Magma to Mountain

Volcanoes grow where tectonic plates collide or drift apart. Heat melts rock into light, buoyant magma that rises, cools, and hardens near the surface, building the cone layer by layer.
