Rome was a city a long time ago. It grew and grew into a big empire. The Romans built houses, streets, and big stone buildings. They made their city strong and safe.

People and Jobs

The Romans had many different jobs. Soldiers wore armor to protect the city. Farmers grew yummy food like wheat and grapes. Builders made roads and strong walls to keep everyone safe.

Fun Facts

The Romans liked to eat flatbread, which is like a pizza. They used special numbers like I, V, and X. We still use these numbers today! The Romans also loved to watch chariot races in big circles called arenas. It was like a big show with fast horses and exciting drivers.
