Magnifiers and Microscopes
What Is a Magnifier?
A magnifier is a small glass lens that makes things look bigger.
You hold it over a picture, a leaf, or a bug and you can see more detail.
It works by bending light so the object appears closer to your eyes.
What Is a Microscope?
A microscope is a bigger tool that can show things too tiny to see with a magnifier.
It has many lenses that work together to make a tiny insect, a grain of sand, or a drop of water look huge.
You look through an eyepiece and turn knobs to focus the image.
How to Use Them
- Magnifier – Hold it a little above the object and move it until the picture looks clear.
- Microscope – Place the object on a slide, close the lid, look through the eyepiece, and turn the focus knob slowly.
- Always keep the lenses clean with a soft cloth.
Now you can explore the hidden world around you!
