⚾️ Baseball Basics for Little Fans
Introduction
Baseball is a fun game where friends take turns hitting a ball and running around a big square called a field. Let’s learn how it works!
1. What Is Baseball?
- A game played by two teams.
- Each team has nine players.
- One team throws (or Pitches) the ball, the other tries to hit it with a bat.
2. The Field and the Players
- The field looks like a big diamond.
- The four corners are called Bases.
- Players run from one base to the next after they hit the ball.
- The player who throws the ball is the Pitcher, and the one who catches it is the Catcher.
3. How to Play
- The pitcher throws the ball toward the batter.
- The batter swings the bat and tries to hit the ball.
- If the ball is hit, the batter runs to the first base.
- If the ball is caught before it touches the ground, the batter is “out.”
- The team gets a point, called a Run, when a player reaches home plate after touching all four bases.
4. Why Do We Have Rules?
- Rules keep the game fair for everyone.
- They help players stay safe, like wearing a helmet when they bat.
- Rules tell us when a player is “out,” when a run is scored, and when the next team gets a turn.
Did You Know? 🤔
The first baseball game ever played used a Round ball, not the oval one we see today!
